Chanukah begins in less than forty eight hours. Jewish men and women should light the first candle on Saturday night December 8thafter dark. We continue lighting the candles each night through and including Saturday night December 15th.
On Friday December 14 one must light the candles only before sunset and not afterwards. On Saturday December 8 and December 15 one must only light the candles one hour after sunset and not before.
You don’t have to have an actual Menorah to fulfill this Mitzvah(requirement). You can use any candle or any type of oil you have and still fulfill the Mitzvah of lighting Chanukah lights .
If you specifically want a Menorah and Chanukah candles and cannot find them locally, please reply to this email and we will help you locate a Menorah and Chanukah candles in your area or send you some.
Each and every Jewish person should light his or her own Menorah. Children are encouraged to light as well.

The Blessings
Before lighting the Chanukah candles, we thank G‑d for giving us this special mitzvah, and for the incredible Chanukah miracles:
Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-he-nu Me-lech ha-olam a-sher ki-de-sha-nu be-mitz-vo-tav ve-tzi-va-nu le-had-lik ner Chanukah.
Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-olam she-a-sa ni-sim la-avo-te-nu ba-ya-mim ha-hem bi-z’man ha-zeh.
[Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to kindle the Chanukah light.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who performed miracles for our forefathers in those days, at this time.]
On the first night of Chanukah, Saturday night, December 8th, 2012 (or the first time on Chanukah you perform this mitzvah), add the following blessing:
Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-he-nu Me-lech ha-olam she-heche-ya-nu ve-ki-yi-ma-nu ve-higi-a-nu liz-man ha-zeh.
[Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has granted us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this occasion.]
