    Marriage Enhancement Evening Workshop Series: 2 & 3 June 2016


    We are excited to announce two opportunities for couples assigned to Shaw AFB to enrich their marriages.  Both events will take place at the Carolina Skies Club from 6:30PM to 9:00PM. Dinner and free books will be provided. Please register for each event individually using the links provided. Sign up for one or sign for both! Space for each event is limited to the first 25 married couples. A waiting list will be set-up in the event of cancellation to ensure maximum participation.

    Childcare Info:

    For the first workshop on 2 June, childcare will be provided at the Palmetto Chapel beginning at 6:00PM. Please include your children’s information as part of the registration for Workshop 1.

    For the second workshop on 3 June, childcare is provided at the Child Development Center or Youth Center as part of the “Give Parents a Break” program. Please call the CDC at 895-2247 to sign your children up for this program prior to completing your registration for Workshop 2. Dinner will be provided for the children both evenings.

    Spiritual Resiliency Evening Event: "How to Truly Come Home"

    Your invitation to truly come home…


    If you have been deployed, once, twice, or multiple times, come for a time of spiritual restoration, and experience truly coming home.

    If you have never been deployed, then come in preparation for deployment.

    Join us for an evening out on 4 October from 1900-2100 hours, on us!  Take advantage of the Give Parents a Break/Parents Night Out child care at the CDC and Youth Center.

    The structure of the evening includes a relaxed dinner at the Carolina Skies Club & Conference Center, followed by a mix of short talks and thought provoking discussion.  It is suitable for all faiths.

    This event is open to all Active Duty/Reserves/National Guard stationed at Shaw AFB, Retirees, GS Civilian and Contractors.

    FamilyLife marriage retreat scholarship

    750 military couples can apply for a FamilyLife marriage retreat scholarship.  Cru Military Ministry (Campus Crusade for Christ Military ministry) partnered with FamilyLife for these 750 scholarships so couples can attend one of 46 Weekend to Remember (WTR) marriage getaways between September 20th and December 8th.  These retreats are Christian-based. These retreats are not sponsored nor endorsed by DOD, USAF or the Chaplain Corps.  It is a resource that Cru Military Ministry and FamilyLife made available to our service members and spouses.   A flyer is attached HERE listing of all 46 WTR locations.  To register for one of these scholarships, people just need to call FamilyLife at 1-800-358-6329 between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm CST.  

    PLEASE NOTE: The scholarships cover registration costs for the event only. lodging & food is a separate expense for the couple attending to cover.

    17-19 May, Marriage Care Retreat in Charleston, SC

    Does your marriage need a tune up? Or maybe it’s time for that 100,000 mile overhaul…well the Shaw Chapel team has planned an exciting marriage enrichment retreat for you and your spouse!

     The retreat is designed as a wonderful time away for couples to deepen their marital love and commitment. The schedule is relaxed, with a mix of short talks, thought provoking discussion, and individual couple time. It is suitable for all faiths. Couples across this base have given this retreat a Five Star rating. It is designed as a child-free weekend. We don’t have the location firm at this time, but will have that information out to those who register as soon as we have firm contracts. The retreat is open to active duty members stationed at Shaw AFB, and it is FREE, which includes two nights lodging and four meals.
